From Science and Service to Shamanic Healing

Welcome, my name is Miko, and I am honored to serve as your guide on a journey of healing and self-discovery.

A Healer’s Journey

When I was born, my parents gave me a Japanese nickname, "Miko," because I looked Japanese. Decades later, as I embarked on my shamanic journey, I discovered that Miko means "the emperor’s shaman" — a bridge between royalty and the divine. Today, I serve everyday people (though emperors are free to apply for an emperor’s fee).

My path to healing began in the sciences and the military. Raised by Filipino parents who instilled in me a curiosity for health and philosophy, I studied biology and sociology. I graduated from UC Irvine and later earned a master's degree from Columbia University.

In the midst of university, I served in the Army as a medic with a deployment to Iraq, and as an EMT in New York. Later, I became a journalist, drawn to uncovering hidden truths.

As a child, I had occasional prophetic dreams and a keen emotional intelligence that allowed me to sense people’s true intentions. But without tangible validation, I dismissed anything I couldn't prove. For over a decade, I embraced atheism.

Then, in the midst of COVID-19, I reached a breaking point and reached out to the universe to prove there’s more than what meets the eye.

On the 14th night of deep meditation, two columns of light — one blue, one green — appeared before me. I blinked, turned away, turned on the light, but the columns remained. I wasn’t hallucinating. I was being shown the truth: that life extends beyond what we can see, that I was loved, and that I had a greater path ahead.

That moment gave me permission to pierce the veil. I began studying shamanic traditions, reconnecting with my Filipino roots and finding guidance from mentors. Under their teachings, I realized that I already knew how to work with energy. Healing, channeling, and moving between worlds came naturally.

My approach blends the analytical with the spiritual. My background in biological science and as an EMT gives me the vocabulary to explain the mechanics of disease, while my military experience provided an intimate understanding of pain. My shamanic eye allows me to see the many non-material sources of injury and disease.

I don’t see myself as someone who "heals" others. I help people heal themselves. Through energy work and mediumship, we uncover the emotional and spiritual wounds that manifest as physical illness, guiding the body back to harmony.

If you’re an emperor looking for a healing, I am your man.

My Philosophy of Healing

At the heart of my work is a belief that true healing goes beyond addressing symptoms—it requires connecting to the root cause of pain. Our beliefs and emotions.

I use a simple three step method. One, become grounded into your body, feeling your connection to yourself and Earth. Two, open your heart to give and receive love, and cultivate com-passion. Three, cultivate your power to transform your life.

Com-passion: Compass to know where you’re going in life, passion to drive you there, and compassion to be a vessel for love.

In the end, it is ultimately you that heals yourself. I am simply a vessel to create a flow of energy and vibration in which you step into and stay.
